Ridgewater Volleyball Opens Season at MCAC Crossover Tournament

ANOKA, Minn. – The Ridgewater Warriors Volleyball team opened their 2025 season at the MCAC Crossover Tournament in Anoka this past weekend, competing in five matches over two days.

 

The Warriors earned their first win with a 3-0 sweep over Minnesota North College–Mesabi Range and defeated Minnesota North College–Rainy River, 3-1. Ridgewater dropped matches to Minnesota West (3-1), Williston State (3-0) and Northland Community and Technical College (3-1).

Several Warriors posted standout performances. Sophomore Rachel Jakel led the offense with 67 kills while also collecting 78 digs throughout the weekend. Freshman Kari Bristle made an immediate impact with 43 kills, and sophomore Ellie Moulton added 32 kills. Running the offense, freshman Johanna Braun recorded an impressive 145 assists and contributed 52 digs defensively.

 

The Warriors begin the year with a 2-3 overall record and will return to action on September 3 at St.Cloud Technical and Community College.
