In an intense back-and-forth battle on their home court, the Ridgewater volleyball team came out on top with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over St. Cloud Technical & Community College on Wednesday night.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, and 21-19 as the Warriors held their composure in a dramatic fifth-set finish to secure the Minnesota College Athletic Conference win.
Ridgewater was powered by a balanced offensive attack, led by Ellie Moulton, who recorded 10 kills and added 32 digs to anchor the defense. Rachel Jakel led the team with 19 kills, while Kori Bristle chipped in with 7 kills and strong play at the net.
Johanna Braun directed the offense efficiently with 41 assists, keeping the Warriors' attack unpredictable throughout the night. Defensively, Ridgewater showcased grit with 111 team digs, highlighted by Hannah Magnuson's steady back-row play.
The win marks an important momentum boost for Ridgewater as they continue their late-season push in MCAC play. The Warriors improve to 10-11 overall on the year and 8-7 in MCAC conference play. The Warriors hit the road friday for the regular season finale against Riverland Community College.
