WILLMAR, Minn. — Ridgewater College closed out its regular-season home slate in emphatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, rolling past Riverland Community College 91–73 in a statement performance that showcased efficiency, toughness, and a total team effort.
The Warriors were locked in from the opening tip, shooting a blistering 55.4% from the field and controlling the pace throughout. Ridgewater established its presence inside early and never let up, outscoring Riverland 62–40 in the paint and owning the rebounding battle 34–30.
Brenton McKinney delivered one of his best outings of the season, pouring in 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from deep. McKinney added 6 rebounds and 3 assists, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.
Fellow starter Tyrese Mayo matched his intensity, finishing with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and a team-high 5 assists, consistently breaking down the Blue Devils' defense. John Hooker added 18 points and 11 rebounds, recording a powerful double-double that fueled Ridgewater's dominance on the glass.
Defensively, the Warriors were disruptive all afternoon. Ridgewater turned Riverland over 14 times, converting those mistakes into 21 points, while giving up only 10 points off their own miscues.
The Warriors' bench also contributed meaningful minutes, highlighted by De'Quarious Marks, who scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Ridgewater carried a 40–30 halftime lead and stretched it to as many as 27 in the second half, maintaining control with disciplined possessions and efficient scoring. The Warriors also showed improvement at the free-throw line, shooting 68.2%, up from Riverland's 57.9%.
With the 91–73 victory, Ridgewater capped off a strong outing marked by balance, energy, and poise—momentum they look to carry into postseason play.
