The team opened the weekend on Saturday with a road matchup against the top-ranked Minnesota West Blue Jays in Worthington. Despite a competitive first quarter that ended tied at 15-15, the Warriors were outscored 26-8 in the second period and were unable to recover, falling 87-50. Kelsey Jaeger led the offensive effort with 11 points, while Julia Hines contributed 9 points, including three made three-pointers.
The Warriors responded emphatically on Sunday, hosting Riverland Community College and delivering a commanding 103-26 victory. The team shot an impressive 59.2% from the field, including 12-of-24 (50%) from beyond the arc. Aly Wendlandt led all scorers with a game-high 33 points and added a team-best 9 steals. Kelsey Jaeger chipped in 16 points, Madison Norsten added 15, Julia Hines scored 14, and Kyra Jensen finished with 11 points. The Warriors moved the ball with precision, tallying 29 assists in the dominant performance.
Monday's home finale against Minnesota State Fergus Falls saw the Warriors maintain their momentum, securing an 80-18 victory. Jaeger once again paced the scoring with 16 points, Hines added 15, and Wendlandt contributed 13 points to go along with a team-high 9 assists. Kyra Jensen dominated the glass with 12 rebounds, while Teagan Oslin pulled down 9 boards. The defense was relentless, forcing 30 turnovers and converting them into 37 points.
The Warriors finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-15 and a 6-4 mark in MCAC conference play. With their strong weekend showing, they earned the No. 3 seed in Region 13A and will open postseason play on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Anoka against Mesabi Range.
The team enters the playoffs riding confidence from back-to-back blowout victories and looks to carry that momentum into what promises to be an exciting tournament run.
