The Ridgewater Softball team battled through a packed weekend slate, taking the field Friday at home against MN West, traveling to St. Cloud on Saturday to face the Cyclones, and wrapping up the stretch Monday in Worthington for a rematch with MN West. The Warriors entered the weekend with a 3–5 record and emerged at 6–8 after a mixed set of results.
Warriors Sweep MN West on Friday
Ridgewater opened the weekend strong, sweeping the Lady Jays at home with scores of 4–2 and 13–5. Sophomore pitcher Nevaeh Rahm was dominant in the circle, earning both wins for the Warriors and tallying 15 strikeouts across the doubleheader. The Warriors also displayed power at the plate, with home runs from Rahm and freshman infielder Aly Wendlendt.
Splits on Saturday Against St. Cloud Cyclones
On Saturday, Ridgewater split their matchup with the Cyclones, dropping the first game 15–0 before bouncing back with a 14–6 victory. Rahm again delivered in the second game, earning the win and collecting nine strikeouts. Freshman infielder Madison Norsten fueled the offense, driving in three runs on three hits, including a triple.
Tough Monday in Worthington
The Warriors closed the stretch on Monday with a road doubleheader at MN West but were unable to carry over their weekend momentum, falling 13–6 and 9–1. Freshman shortstop Hannah Magnuson was a bright spot, swiping four bases on the day.
Looking Ahead
Ridgewater now sits at 6–8 on the season and returns home for another pair of games this upcoming Friday and Saturday. The Warriors look to build on their strong showings from the early weekend and continue climbing in the standings.
